Glacier Giving

Glacier Giving by Breakthrough 1D

Our Commitment to Breakthrough T1D

At Glacier Laboratories, Glacier Giving is more than a donation program. Instead, it reflects our identity and our commitment to communities in need.

Our support for Breakthrough T1D is deeply personal. When our founder’s son—and the brother of our current president—was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at age 13, we came to understand the challenges families face. Since then, we have witnessed how demanding this condition can be.

In response, we have joined walks and fundraising initiatives since 2000. Through these efforts, we aim to drive progress toward better treatments, prevention, and ultimately, a cure. Moreover, supporting Breakthrough T1D has become part of who we are. It demonstrates our belief in standing alongside families and communities affected by this disease.

Breakthrough T1D is the world’s leading nonprofit organization focused on curing, preventing, and treating type 1 diabetes (T1D) and its complications. The organization funds cutting-edge research accelerates the development of life-changing therapies like artificial pancreas systems and disease-modifying treatments, and advocates for affordable access to insulin and early detection programs. Beyond research, Breakthrough T1D provides education and resources that empower families, while building a strong global community dedicated to creating a future without type 1 diabetes.

Other Charitable Organizations Glacier Supports Currently or in the Past

The Global 6K for Water is World Vision’s signature fundraising event. It brings people together worldwide to walk, run, or roll six kilometers—the average distance children in developing countries travel each day for water.

By covering this distance, participants raise awareness of the daily struggle for safe water. In addition, every step helps fund clean water projects. Registration is $50 for adults and $25 for youth. As a result, each entry provides one person with lasting access to clean water.

Since 2011, the Global 6K has supported millions through water, sanitation, and hygiene programs. Moreover, World Vision is now the largest nongovernmental provider of clean water in the developing world. Today, it reaches one new person with water every 10 seconds and three new schools every day.

The next Global 6K for Water will be held on May 16, 2026. Glacier’s 2026 team will be announced soon, and we look forward to joining the cause once again.

Glacier Giving with American Heart Assosiation

The American Heart Association (AHA) is the nation’s oldest and largest voluntary nonprofit dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. Founded in 1924, its mission is “to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.”

The AHA funds groundbreaking cardiovascular research. In addition, it develops trusted guidelines such as CPR and stroke care standards. Moreover, it educates the public through campaigns like Go Red for Women, Hands-Only CPR, and Life’s Essential 8™ for healthy living.

The association also advocates for policies that expand access to care, advance health equity, and encourage prevention. As a result of these efforts, it has invested more than $6 billion in research. With a global network of volunteers, the AHA continues to reduce cardiovascular disease and improve public health.
